To fix this, we have gone ahead and created a quick guide that will help you to solve your problems quickly without the need to call Virgin Media.

If you have a SuperHub 2 then you will find these below descriptions very helpful if you are currently experiencing a loss in connectivity, or you are simply curious about the current status of your Hub.
We don’t recommend staring at them for too long though as they are not very entertaining. Below are some of the most common lighting configurations that you will come across.
No lights are on
Your hub is probably switched off or unplugged. Plug it back in and switch it on and you should be golden.
If this is the case then you will have no internet or WiFi, obviously.
White power light is on and Internet lights are flashing
This means that your Hub is working correctly, hurrah!
White power light is on and Internet lights are off
This means that the Hub is on, but your WiFi isn’t
You may have a loose connection somewhere along the line. Follow these simple steps to make sure that this isn’t the case:
- The Hub’s power supply needs to be firmly connected between the wall and the Hub, and the power should be turned on.
- Verify that the white cable is securely connected to the Virgin Media wall socket.
- Connect the cable tightly to the splitter and to the rear of the Hub after plugging it into the wall socket.
White power light is on and Internet lights are blue
Your internet is working when you see this light configuration, but you might find that there is a device on your WiFi network that is not happy. Try restarting the device and your Super Hub and check if this still carries on.
If you still have problems connecting to your WiFi then you will have to get in contact with Virgin Media and ask them to troubleshoot with you.

Alternatives to Super Hub 2 routers
If you are finding that your Super Hub 2 is simply not working for you, then you should look at installing a stand alone WiFi router or even a fancy mesh WiFi setup. This is what the majority of Virgin Media users end up doing when they notice that the WiFi is no longer working like it should. Examples of bad WiFi include:
- Slow and unresponsive internet
- Poor WiFi connectivity that drops constantly
- Lag and poor latency
- Unusable internet when there are multiple devices connected
- WiFi black spots and dead zones. (learn more about those here)
We have put a short list together for inexpensive replacements that will have your WiFi performing like it should.
Asus RT-AX55 – Great overall option
Linksys MR7350 – Seriously high performance
TP-Link Archer AX50 – Tons of features
Netgear NightHawk X6 – Great for entertainment services
Installing a Replacement router
All you need to do is install an Ethernet cable that will connect from your Virgin Media Super Hub to your new stand alone WiFi router. Next, you will need to put your Super Hub 2 into Modem Mode.
Make sure you are connected to the Super Hub 1, 2 or 2ac before following these steps.
- Enter 192.168.0.1 into your browser’s address bar
- The Hub has a password on its under side
- Modem Mode can be found under Super Hub Settings
- Select the Modem Enabled box
- Continue by selecting Yes. When the Super Hub reboots, Modem Mode is activated
Once you have done this, you will need to set up a new WiFi network name and password. Most of the modern WiFi routers that we recommend come with an easy to follow installation process that will have you up and running in minutes.
