What is a Virgin Router IP?

You probably here a a lot of talk about IP addresses, but what are they? Without overloading you with too much information about IP addresses, we can simply say that an IP address is a unique address that is used to identify a device on a computer network.

The internet can be thought of as one massive computer network that is segmented into many millions of different sections.

When you use a web browser to connect to a website, the website sends you a packet of data that contains your IP address. If you go to the internet and type in a website address into a web browser your computer sends out a request to the DNS register on the internet, and an IP address is sent back.

If the site you requested is not available you will receive a message saying This site is not available.

When you click on the link it will take you to the web page that was linked to by the website you typed into the web browser.

Your Virgin Router IP gives your devices access to the internet, and also issues further sub level IP addresses on the local network which allows them to also connect to the internet.
